[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07wiMZqXi88] As you can see, Derrick Rose brought down the thunder on the Thunder last night.  Thanks to performances like last night (and highlight dunk after highlight dunk), according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, who happens to be rarely incorrect about anything when it comes to the NBA, Derrick Rose has been named to the All-Star team by the NBA coaches.  Let me be the first to say PRAISE THE LORD.  1998.  1998!!!!!!!!!  1998 was the last time the Bulls had an all-star.  His name was Michael Jordan.  We had to wait 12 freakin years for a Chicago Bull to return to the All-Star game.  Does anyone understand how long that is?  Over a decade for an All-Star?  A decade and a half?  First of all, that's pathetic.  Second of all, no one else really deserved it.  Not even the controversial Ben Gordon.  And definitely not Ben Wallace.  But Derrick, ladies and gentlemen, definitely deserves it. Averaging nearly 25 points since December, the man has been a one-man wrecking crew.  He's owned opposing point guards and he's put the Bulls on his back so many times this season to the point where they probably would have less than 10 wins without him.  As I've stated before, he's been nothing short of spectacular, especially on this recent road trip, and his game has become identical to that of one Dwyane Wade.  Basically, if Rondo made it over Rose...I would have been pissed.  As it turns out, according to Adrian, Rondo made it as well.  But Rondo is playing with 3 future hall of famers...and Rose is playing with...well...Joakim Noah.  I'd go as far as to say that if Rose was playing for the Celtics, they would have 5-7 more wins than they do with Rondo.  Rose has been that dominant at his position. The Bulls are at .500, and they reached that milestone by winning 4 games in a row on the road.  They have one less win than Wade's Heat, and are half a game back of them.  Why?  Because of Derrick Rose.  No one is more deserving of being named an All-Star...I don't care what he looked like because of his injury in November...and no one is more valuable to their team than he is.  Averaging 20 points and 6 assists, close to 25 points since early December, ladies and gentlemen, the first Bull in a decade and a half...CONGRATULATIONS DERRICK ROSE...YOU ARE AN ALL-STAR. Also quick shoutout to Deron Williams, my fellow Illini and former classmate.  He also is making his first All-Star team.  I will most definitely be tuned in to the All-Star game this year...for once. Update: I'd also like to point out that in the midst of my excitement about Derrick, I forgot to mention one thing.  Al Horford made the All-Star team.  Why is this significant?  Well, because Joakim Noah is more deserving.  Horford is averaging 13.6 points and 9.8 rebounds a game,  as well as 1.2 blocks.  Almost a double-double, but not quite.  Joakim Noah, on the other hand, is averaging 11.3 points and 12.1 rebounds, a true double-double, as well as 1.3 blocks per game.  He's second in the league in rebounds, and his blocked shots stats are only rising.  Horford is having a good season no doubt, but not quite as good as Noah.  Not sure why Horford got the nod over Noah, but I have a felling it has to do with the coaches already agreeing to select Rose, so they felt like one Bull was enough.  If that is the case, then it's absolutely not fair because Joe Johnson was chosen from the Hawks as well, so that logic didn't seem to apply to the Hawks.  I suppose I should give the coaches the benefit of the doubt and assume it's because of the Hawks' record this season, which is much better than the Bulls', but I still think Noah is more deserving.  Can't complain too much I suppose, cuz DERRICK IS IN BABY.
